Skull Flight - Chris Hiett, Multi
SHORT 4 - 2.125ā TRUCK HOLE PATTERN
ABOUT THE ARTWORK:
Chrisās first pro graphic features a skeleton bursting out of a jack in the box ā a bold metaphor for breaking free from limitations and embracing authenticity. It represents the idea of thinking outside the box, stepping out of your comfort zone, and owning who you are. Created in collaboration with VCJ, the design captures the raw feeling of self-discovery and transformation. Chrisās hope is that his graphic invites skaters to recognize each other, spark conversations, and build community, especially for those who might feel unseen or out of place.
Unbeknownst to both Chris and Court, the graphic would take on an even deeper meaning. Court was in the middle of designing the piece when he experienced a heart attack ā a shocking event that mirrored the image he was drawing: a Jack in the Box, heart at its center, radiating outward. What started as a playful idea became a raw, symbolic reflection of lifeās unpredictability, and a reminder of how art, emotion, and experience are often more connected than we realize.
